It is becoming an annual tradition for Cook Medical employees to participate in Movember. So far this year, as in years past, we’ve seen strong support—most visibly by those men who are bold enough to grow out their moustaches.
But growing a ‘stache isn’t the only way to participate. This year, we’ve groomed our activities across the Cook companies, with special events throughout the month in the spirit of community and wellness.
Our official ‘Stache Day is going on the road this Movember to a handful of our U.S. locations where we are partnering with the Cook Wellness team as part of the annual wellness and benefits fair. At each stop we are sharing men’s health information and providing a photo booth (complete with props and accessories) for anyone who wants to snap a ‘stache photo.
However, we’re not limiting our efforts to the U.S. Our global wellness ambassadors are helping us spread the message across the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe. We’re encouraging individuals and teams from all of our global companies and our distribution partners to join the Cook network (hosted by the Movember Foundation) and the conversation. You can join us and start your own team as well. (Learn more about the great work the Movember Foundation is doing here.)
It’s your conversations that may make the biggest difference. After all, men’s health issues like prostate cancer are a concern no matter where you are. Just talking about the statistics and risk factors may inspire a coworker or loved one to have a conversation with their doctor. It’s a step that just might save their life. That’s what Movember is all about. That’s why we ‘mo.’
If you have your own ‘stache photos, we want to see them! Send them to us on Twitter @CookUro, or e-mail us at socialmedia@cookmedical.com.
