Real-world simulators with real-life impact

Cook Medical’s embryo transfer (ET) simulator

Practise and perfect your embryo transfer techniques using today’s best clinical practices.

The dynamic learning opportunity lets you lead, review, discuss, and practise your embryo transfer protocol in a clinical setting, without the patient.

  • Anyone involved in the procedure can benefit: clinicians, embryologists, and nurses
  • The ET simulator programme is based on the ASRM Standard Embryo Transfer Protocol.1,2
  • Discuss best clinical practices in embryo transfer using five clinical cases with increasing levels of difficulty to choose from, including:
    • Different uterine angles
    • Different cervical canal shapes and length of uteri
    • Different obstacles, such as a cervix presenting a ridge and false passage

Learning objectives, tasks to perform, and metrics allow users to assess their individual performance of the ET procedure.

  • Users are led through each ET task, including navigating the cervical canal, transferring the embryos into the uterine cavity, removing the catheter, and checking the catheter for retained embryos.
  • The metrics report assesses each performance based on the most critical points of the ET procedure, such as the number of touches of the fundus, placing the catheter tip in an ideal zone during embryo expulsion, the distance of the catheter tip from the fundus, and the duration of the ET procedure.

Proven success
Cook Medical has conducted more than 50 embryo transfer simulator events and trained more than 500 healthcare professionals.
