The partnerships we develop with our suppliers are important to us. We have strong ties to hundreds of manufacturers and service providers worldwide, and we have been fortunate to work with some of our suppliers for more than 35 years.
In a business where patient safety is the most important criteria, the expectations we set for our suppliers match the expectations we have for our internal teams and processes.
The programs below help us ensure that our suppliers meet our expectations for quality and business practices.
A note regarding the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementation
At Cook Medical, we need to have a flexible, fast-acting supply chain that can meet the rapidly changing supply and demand for medical devices.
We work with our suppliers to create a process that streamlines our interaction with suppliers and keeps our raw materials at a manageable level. Watch here to find out more:
Cook launched a Supplier Recognition Program in 2020, to recognise suppliers that make significant contributions toward our goals and objectives. The program, with annual awards in multiple categories, allows us to celebrate the success of suppliers who align with our mission and vision.
We have a comprehensive Global Ethics & Compliance team and program. Learn more about the way we do business and read the Cook Group Global Code of Conduct, which describes the value we strive to achieve as a corporate citizen:
“Serve as a corporate role model for the betterment of society by being a sensitive employer and contributor to the communities where we reside, and an example of the highest integrity in business dealings.”
We are committed to ensuring that our global operations comply with our internal policies relating to human rights and also with any legal requirements, such as the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 where applicable.

Cook established a Supplier Code of Conduct, providing guidance on supplier interactions with Cook Medical and its affiliates. The requirements outlined in the Code are designed to improve business relationships, help ensure ethical and legal compliance, foster an environment of partnership, and create value in our business interactions.
We categorize suppliers according to the potential risk their materials or services pose. To ensure patient safety and maintain the highest degree of product quality, each of our suppliers undergoes a rigorous qualification process. This process may include (but is not limited to) surveys and interviews, verification of certification, quality agreements, and onsite audits.
Corrective actions for nonconformances may be required of a supplier. A formal request for Corrective actions will be sent to the supplier along with the requirements for response and implementation.
We are committed to being proactive about reducing our environmental footprint and encourage our supplier partners to do the same.
